The Museo Mitad del Mundo is located in the city of the same name, which is in the parish of San Antonio de Pichincha in the Metropolitan District of Quito, 13.5 kilometers from the capital of Ecuador.
To get to this museum, first you need to get to the Mitad del Mundo city. First you must take the Metrobús system that goes to the north of Quito and get off at the final station De la Ofelia. Once there you must take the integrated bus called “La Mitad del Mundo”. This bus will drop you right at the entrance for a couple of coins.
The hours of attention to the public are from Monday to Sunday from 09.00am to 18:00 pm.
The entrance fee is USD 3 for adults, USD 1.50 for children and seniors.
In this interesting museum you’ll be able to learn about the arrival of the French Geodesic Mission to Ecuador, in order to measure the meridian arc and do the work of building the equatorial monument that can be seen today in the city. They were also in charge of the construction of the Ciudad Mitad del Mundo complex.
